Garver is performing multiple tasks as part of an existing on-call contract at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. One is designing vehicle security checkpoints to enhance security and traffic flow. A key aspect of this design is the construction phasing, which will maintain uninterrupted airport access and perimeter security. The Garver-led team is carefully coordinating the construction to ensure that it does not impede traffic flow or compromise security measures during the construction process. Another is part of a series of enabling projects associated with the future satellite concourse: overseeing the geotechnical investigation of over 100 borings across the terminal apron, taxiways, and midfield. This includes managing and coordinating with the airport, City of Austin, airside operations, consultants, geotechnical engineers, surveyors, and more to carefully work around the airport's high operational demand. The team has also had great success navigating a complex network of underground utilities thanks to a precisely and efficiently coordinated Subsurface Utility Engineering survey.
