Garver provided services for the rehabilitation of Runway 18-36 at Arkansas International Airport, which had a nonstandard high intensity runway light. The project consisted of removing the existing edge lights and installing new, LED HIRL fixtures, transformers, and cabling. The Garver team utilized the existing light base can and conduit system that was installed as part of an earlier FAA-funded project. Garver helped the airport incorporate solutions – like LED fixtures – that reduce energy cost, reduce maintenance, and provide a safer, more reliable system with a longer life. Garver assisted the airport in evaluating available funding sources in order to obtain FAA AIP funding and state non-AIP funding to support the overall project. Upon completion, the airport had the first LED HIRL system in the state.
