New Albany-Union County Airport New Terminal Building

A comprehensive terminal project enhances airport facilities and services

Garver provided planning, preliminary design, funding coordination, grant attainment, final design, and construction of a new 3,000-square-foot terminal building for New Albany-Union County Airport [in New Albany, Mississippi].

The project required coordination between multiple professional disciplines such as civil, aviation, survey, geotechnical, architectural and mechanical engineering.

Garver presented renderings of different plan options to the client. The one they selected includes a lobby, pilot’s lounge, conference room, offices, shower room, and restrooms, as well as lounge and waiting areas and areas for customer service, flight planning, janitorial staff, electrical and storage, and a covered front porch and a covered back flight porch overlooking the runway.

The project relied on several funding sources including FAA AIP, MDOT, ARC, TVA, City and County and was divided into two phases for site development and building construction to maximize the percentage of grant funding applicable to each phase.
