For the Cynthia Harrison-County Airport, Garver designed a new taxiway that helped create a smooth operational flow of traffic around the airport’s fuel system, which increased safety for all users by decreasing the amount of time spent on the runway. The airport didn’t previously have a parallel taxiway, which created a growing safety concern, considering it required aircraft to back taxi on the runway and the airport’s proximity to a river made some think development was impossible at a reasonable cost. But Garver secured funding from the Federal Aviation Administration and the Kentucky Department of Aviation, to complete a project that provides an airport that draws traffic from surrounding areas because of its cheap fuel prices.
