Conway Downtown Drainage Study

Municipal storm sewer modeling and design

The downtown area of Conway, Arkansas, is a thriving economic and community epicenter for the City. However, flooding has plagued the streets and businesses of this area for years. Garver was tasked with creating a state-of-the-art hydraulic model in XPSWMM that would represent both above and below ground drainage features so that the full storm system of the area could be analyzed and improved. The H&H Team at Garver delivered modeling results that provided Conway with an understanding of its existing storm system and provided design alternatives to improve drainage without impacting the historic infrastructure. Garver was also able to assist the City in procuring a Hazard Mitigation Grant to offset costs of the study and developed an interactive online deliverable so that City officials could navigate the results of the study in a GIS online portal.
