Multimodal Analysis
Making recommendations for safety, access and mobility, connectivity and operational benefit.
The goal of multimodal planning is to improve movements of multiple transportation modes to support community mobility, accessibility, land use, quality of life, and environmental and economic vitality on corridors. Multimodal analyses encompass vehicle, transit, bicycle, and pedestrian needs. Garver provides expertise in multimodal mobility analysis to achieve an effective complete streets design. Our studies include a multimodal level of service analysis for all road users and a detailed traffic and safety analysis. Through this process, we analyze and compare different multimodal design elements to help make recommendations for safety, access and mobility, connectivity, and operational benefit. Projects can include new bikeways, sidewalk and lighting improvements, pedestrian signals, road diets, and transit enhancement.
