Norman Indirect Potable Reuse Pilot Study
Funding support for innovative IPR project
Extensive upgrades designed by Garver were completed on Norman’s Water Reclamation Facility. The high-quality effluent produced at the new facility was a potential indirect potable reuse (IPR) water source to augment Lake Thunderbird and help alleviate future water supply shortages.
The City of Norman, Oklahoma worked with Garver to design, build, and oversee an extensive pilot, testing seven technologies over a year to evaluate the effectiveness of the technologies. To fund a portion of the water reuse pilot study, Garver developed a winning U.S. Bureau of Reclamation grant worth $700,000. The grant was one of only four awarded nationally and the only one outside California.
