Russellville WTP CMAR Improvements

Using the CMAR delivery method to maintain schedule and operations

To meet a compressed schedule and accelerate repairs, City Corporation of Russellville, Arkansas chose to expedite its project by using a construction manager at risk (CMAR) delivery method with Garver as the CMAR engineer. It was also vital to maintain plant operations and water production during the project. So, to maintain schedule and plant operations, Garver collaborated with the CMAR contractor on methods to minimize plant down time and package the improvements to be completed concurrently.

Plant improvements included replacement of the aged generator and transfer switch and repairs to the existing hypochlorite system. Garver also provided structural rehabilitation to the existing clearwell and upgrades to the existing high service pump station to include adding variable frequency drives. We also evaluated and developed plans for structural rehabilitation and repair to the existing filters, as well as replacement of underdrains and backwash troughs.
