Garver welcomes Irvine as new Missouri Transportation Team Leader

Garver is excited to announce that Jerry Irvine, PE, has joined the firm as the new Missouri Transportation Team Leader. With over 30 years of experience in project management and roadway design in Missouri and across the nation, Irvine brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to Garver’s growing Transportation Team in Missouri.

As a senior roadway engineer, Irvine has been instrumental in delivering project-specific solutions that meet clients' needs while maintaining a strong focus on quality design. His extensive experience includes overseeing and directing roadway design teams during concept, proposal, and final design development phases. Irvine is an expert at rural and urban highway design, including complex interchanges. He is also adept at identifying design risks that could impact project schedules and budgets, and he excels at recommending feasible and cost-effective solutions.

In his new role, Irvine will help strengthen Garver’s presence in Missouri, where it has led design on projects such as the U.S. 69 Missouri River Bridge, the 53rd Terrace Bridge Replacement in Kansas City, and others. He will also use his expertise in delivering ongoing Garver projects with the Missouri Department of Transportation, which include the I-44 Purpose and Need Study and I-70 NEPA Reevaluations. His local knowledge combined with a robust Garver Transportation Team consisting of multidiscipline experts in bridge, drainage, environmental, hydrology and hydraulics, traffic, and utility coordination will provide him the means to become a trusted advisor for federal, state, local, and industry partners.

“Jerry’s experience both in the state and across the country will only add to Garver’s 105-year tradition of project delivery,” said Midwest Region Transportation Director Jason Langhammer, PE. “His previous work with MoDOT and familiarity with its growing transportation systems helps as Garver continues to serve as a trusted advisor to those across the state.”

A licensed professional engineer in nine states, Irvine holds a BS in Civil Engineering and an MS in Engineering Management from the University of Kansas. He is also a founding member of the Kansas City chapter of the American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE). His previous  experience includes serving as the roadway engineering lead for the Southeast Connector design-build project in Fort Worth, Texas; roadway engineering lead for the Route 364 (Page Extension) design-build project in O’Fallon, Missouri; maintenance of traffic design lead for the kcICON I-29/35 design-build project in Kansas City; and as the project manager of the Collins Bypass U.S. Route 13 improvements in Collins, Missouri.

“I’m thrilled about my new position at Garver and about being part of an exciting time for highway and interstate improvements across Missouri,” Irvine said. “I know that Garver’s rich tradition of providing transportation solutions and deep bench of qualified experts can help move Missouri forward.”
