Garver virtual run highlights SummitLIVE! events
Garver Summit is an annual event held to celebrate the firm’s employees and all that they have accomplished over the previous year, and to lay out the firm’s plans for the future.
This year, the event was held virtually for the first time, with Garver SummitLIVE! broadcasting from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Garver employees watching from offices across the country.
As a part of the annual Summit celebration, Garver’s award-winning Wellness Team hosts a race where employees can walk or run while having fun. Just like SummitLIVE!, the race went virtual. More than 250 employees from across the country participated in what the company called Garver Runs the Nation.
Employees had the option to complete the race of their choice, ranging from a one-mile to a half-marathon, any time throughout a week in mid-October. Awards were given in a few special categories, including the top three in each race, as well as Best Garver Spirit and Coolest Route. Employees were creative with their routes, some planning their runs through Garver offices while dressed in festive Garver gear. Many were first-time racers and others chose to participate with their families.
“Garver Runs the Nation was such a great challenge, said Garver Texas Environmental and Planning Team Leader Susan Chavez. “Just knowing I was doing it with so many others around the firm, even though it was virtual, kept me motivated. Even though we were physically distanced, it still made me feel part of something big.”
A big congratulations to our Garver Runs the Nation winners!
