Garver mourns the passing of longtime team member Jim Ward
We are saddened by the death of longtime Garver team member Jim Ward, who passed away on Sunday, August 16.
Jim joined Garver in 1974 and dedicated 52 years of service to our company. As a Senior Construction Inspector, he brought more than four decades of construction observation and quality assurance experience to projects across the region.
"I was blessed to work with Jim throughout my career at Garver," said Garver Director of Field Services Earl Mott. "He was an incredible person and will be dearly missed by clients and coworkers alike."
Throughout his career, Jim played an important role in the successful delivery of some of Arkansas' most significant infrastructure projects. His work included projects at airports across the state, including Fort Smith Regional Airport, Clinton National Airport, and the construction of the new Conway Regional, Delta Regional, and Saline County Regional airports. He also contributed to multiple projects at the Port of Little Rock and numerous major water and wastewater projects, including work for Conway Corporation, Russellville City Corporation, and the City of Searcy.
Other projects that Jim spoke of with pride include the Tupelo Bayou Wastewater Treatment Plant in Conway, Huckleberry Reservoir in Russellville, and his involvement in both the initial construction and subsequent maintenance improvements at the Murray Hydroelectric Plant in North Little Rock. His experience also extended to large-scale industrial projects, including the reclamation of thousands of acres and placement of millions of cubic yards of earth at Alcoa's site in Bauxite.
Throughout more than five decades with Garver, Jim remained committed to serving clients, supporting project teams, and delivering work to the highest standards. His professionalism, experience, and steady presence earned the respect of generations of coworkers and left a lasting impact on Garver and the many clients he served.
