The Journal Record honors Garver with Oklahoma Top Engineering Firm award
At a recent award ceremony at the Oklahoma Hall of Fame, The Journal Record named Garver Top Engineering Firm. Garver’s Chief Operating Officer Michael Graves and leadership from Garver’s Oklahoma offices in South Oklahoma City and Tulsa were present to receive the award.
Newspaper readers submitted nominations, and The Journal Record’s editorial staff made final selections. It is the inaugural year for the award, which is a category of the publication’s annual Top Projects awards.
Several factors contributed to the win. Garver’s resume in Oklahoma includes over 2,000 completed projects in 30 years – with other major projects currently underway. One of the most notable includes the award-winning Gilcrease Expressway project completed in 2023. In the coming years, Garver will complete other landmark projects, including the Enid Kaw Lake Water Supply Program, which is in its final phase and looks to provide Enid and surrounding communities with a new 50-year sustainable water supply.
Equally important is Garver’s investment of time and resources through grants, employee giving, and volunteerism made through its corporate giving program, GarverGives. Since 2015, Garver has invested $200,000 in Oklahoma communities and has curated longstanding partnerships with local nonprofits like City Lights Foundation in Tulsa, Walk4Water in Oklahoma City, and I AM STEM camps in Lawton.
Garver celebrated 30 years in Oklahoma last year, commemorating the anniversary with 30 Days of Giving. Through this initiative, GarverGives gave $1,000 to a local nonprofit, nominated by the firm’s Oklahoma employees, every day for 30 days – totaling $30,000 donated to communities throughout the state. Recipients ranged from local elementary schools to the Norman Arts Council.
Just as much as Garver values its client and community partnerships, it values its employees, going above and beyond to provide the best employee experience. The firm recognizes that its people are at the core of everything it does – from innovative infrastructure solutions to charitable giving. As a result, Garver has been named the Best Firm to Work For 10 years running.
Since 1993, Garver has expanded from one office in Tulsa to four spanning the state and has grown from employing three Oklahomans to 125 and counting. In its three decades of serving the state, Garver has helped shape Oklahoma communities and looks forward to continuing making a positive impact in the future.
