Christenson Joins Garver Water Team in Houston

Garver is pleased to announce the addition of Dylan Christenson, Ph.D., P.E., to its team as the Texas Wastewater Treatment Business Development Leader. Christenson brings with him extensive experience in wastewater process modeling, and treatment plant and process design and optimization.

"Dylan's vast experience in water resource recovery facilities and his passion for sustainability and innovation make him a natural fit for Garver," said Garver Director of Water Services Jeff Sober. "We're delighted to welcome him aboard and are excited for what he brings to our wastewater treatment practice."

Christenson, a leading expert in biological wastewater treatment, biofilm treatment technologies, nutrient removal, wastewater reuse, anaerobic digestion, energy analysis, and greenhouse gas assessments, has been recognized for his contributions to the industry. His accolades include the Water Environment Association of Texas (WEAT) Workforce Development Award (2020), and the WEAT President’s Service Award (2020), and he was named to the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists (AAEES) 40 Under 40 program (2022).

He has held significant leadership roles in WEAT as the president of the WEAT SE Section and vice president at the state level. Additionally, he co-founded a U.S. Department of Labor apprenticeship program for water and wastewater plant operators in Texas, just one demonstration of his commitment to the development of future industry professionals.

Christenson’s extensive project experience includes mitigating disasters for wastewater facilities affected by Hurricane Harvey, overseeing pilot testing of a new ceramic membrane for California Title 22 assessment, and advancing wastewater treatment resiliency and sustainability in response to climate change.

He holds a PhD and a master's degree in civil engineering, both from Texas Tech University. In addition, he has a Master of Arts in education and a Bachelor of Arts in liberal studies, mathematics from Vanguard University of Southern California.

As Garver's Wastewater Treatment Business Development Leader for Texas, Dylan Christenson will continue his work developing and implementing effective, sustainable wastewater treatment strategies.
