AUS Airport Master Plan

Proactive response

Garver was part of a multi-firm team for the Airport Master Plan at Austin–Bergstrom International Airport (AUS). The primary focus of the plan was to address the rapid growth recently experienced at AUS and in the Austin area as well as to prepare AUS to be proactive and responsive to future growth and aviation trend changes. Garver’s main focus areas of the planning effort included ground transportation and parking, general aviation, Airport Layout Plan development, and Safety Management System planning. This project also included an SRM, which included an analysis to determine if the current aircraft rescue and firefighting (ARFF) station needed to be relocated. Garver’s local staff familiar with AUS and the City of Austin expedited much of the information gathering and review processes by identifying and engaging appropriate stakeholders at key points in the planning process for the prime consultant.
