Wichita Falls Regional Airport Master Plan

Balanced Planning for Future Growth

Garver has been working on projects for the Wichita Falls Regional Airport since 2015. When the airport needed an experienced team to chart a path for the future of the airport , Garver was ready. In late 2023, Garver began working with the airport on an update to the Airport Master Plan. The airport is located on Sheppard Air Force Base, but the City leases an area for civilian aviation use. A plan was needed to facilitate development while limiting impacts to military operations. Taking all of this into account, Garver worked with stakeholders to analyze the need and feasibility of acquiring additional property for civilian aviation use, established a future development plan to accommodate potential aeronautical growth, and developed a CIP to identify necessary improvements to maintain and develop new civilian airport facilities . Additionally, Garver is assisting the airport with evaluating the potential for re-entry to the FAA’s Military Airport Program (MAP).
