John Shaw named a C-Suite Award Winner
The Northwest Arkansas Business Journal named Garver’s Chief Human Resources Officer John Shaw to its 2025 C-Suite Awards class. Shaw joins a cohort of other corporate leaders selected from across Northwest Arkansas being recognized for both their commitment to the community and outstanding professional performance.

What originally began as a career in recruiting — driven by a passion for helping people find the right career and for helping organizations grow intentionally — has since evolved into an impressive and impactful human resources career for Shaw. With nearly 30 years of experience, his career is a testament to the power of intentional leadership, strategic vision, and a deep commitment to both people and progress.
Based in Garver’s Rogers office, Shaw leads a dynamic HR team that supports more than 1,400 employees across 21 states. His responsibilities span health and retirement benefits, recruitment, learning and development, and wellness initiatives — all designed to foster a thriving workplace culture.
During Shaw’s career — which includes notable roles in healthcare, banking, and construction — he has undertaken major overhauls of HR departments to promote better efficiency and efficacy throughout, not only streamlining operations but saving companies millions in redundant strategies. These achievements speak volumes about his strategic acumen and ability to lead change.
But Shaw’s influence extends far beyond the boardroom.
In Northwest Arkansas, he’s known not just as a corporate leader, but as a compassionate community advocate. For five years, Shaw served on the board of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, training over 1,000 individuals to recognize and respond to signs of suicidal ideation. His efforts in fundraising and sponsorship significantly surpassed previous benchmarks, bringing vital resources to the cause. He also teaches a powerful recovery course at Cross Church called Trauma Reboot, designed to help people work through trauma.
Through GarverGives, he also supports nonprofits like the Northwest Arkansas Children’s Shelter, reinforcing his belief that corporate success should be paired with community stewardship.
Shaw’s work has not only shaped the trajectory of Garver but has also left a lasting imprint on the Northwest Arkansas community.
The Northwest Arkansas Business Journal’s C-Suite Award is a fitting recognition for a leader whose career has been defined by purpose, progress, and people.
