Williams named Business Executive of the Year by Arkansas Business
Garver CEO Dan Williams was named Business Executive of the Year on Wednesday night during the 31st annual Arkansas Business of the Year Awards program in Little Rock. Arkansas Business Publishing Group of Little Rock presents the awards each year to honor businesses, nonprofits and executives in Arkansas. Readers of Arkansas Business nominate executives and organizations for the awards. Williams, who has been Garver CEO since 2012, was selected for the honor by an independent panel of judges.
In an acceptance speech, which can be seen in its entirety here, Williams thanked Garver leadership, employees, and his family.
At Garver in a variety of roles since 1982, Williams has led the 100-year-old company through an unprecedented period of growth. Garver has opened 16 new offices under Williams’ leadership, and now counts nearly 600 employees in its 28 offices across 11 states. In that time, Garver has reached the Top 150 on Engineering News-Record’s prestigious Top 500 Design Firms list, while also enhancing its dedication to promoting STEM education initiatives, and receiving accolades for workplace culture.
Garver has been named a best firm to work for in the multi-discipline category for five consecutive years by Zweig Group, and corporate-giving arm GarverGives, launched in 2015, has contributed more than $300,000 to charitable organizations across the country.
That emphasis has been enhanced this year, as Garver celebrates its centennial. By donating 100 STEM kits and funds to schools around the country, Garver is encouraging students to take part in the Garver Chain Reaction Challenge, which helps develop core concepts in the next generation of engineers.
