Blakemore earns DBIA certification
Garver Bridge Team Leader Blake Blakemore, PE, DBIA, recently joined an elite class of industry professionals by earning one of the Design-Build Institute of America’s highest achievements.
Blakemore, based in Garver’s Kansas City, Missouri office, completed the DBIA’s comprehensive education and certification testing program to join the 2020 class of nationally-certified Design-Build Professionals. This certification identifies Blakemore as one of the industry leaders in knowledge of DBIA best practices.
“Design-build is one of our industry’s most efficient method for owners to turn their most important ideas into the needed projects that enhance their communities,” Blakemore said. “Completing this certification process has only helped me become more aware of how we can help our clients through design-build.”
Blakemore has more than two decades of experience delivering innovative bridge designs to communities across the country. At Garver, he has led the design of award-winning projects such as the U.S. 69 Missouri River Bridge that connects Missouri and Kansas, which was delivered via design-build. The design-build delivery method has long been a part of Garver’s expertise, leading to the delivery of the Canine Training Facility at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, the Fort Sill Low Water Crossing in Oklahoma, and others.
According to the DBIA, this certification is the nation’s only measurable standard for knowledge of its principles vital to successful project delivery. Comprised of architectural, engineering, and construction professionals, as well as academics, students, and project owners, DBIA members collaborate to deliver some of America’s most successful infrastructure improvements.
