Collins joins Garver as Safety and Total Rewards Director

Collins takes on dual role on Human Resources Team to ensure safety and prioritize benefits

As Garver continues to grow, so does the need for talented and experienced human resources professionals like Lauren Collins, who is stepping into the role of Safety and Total Rewards Director at the firm.

Collins is a Texas A&M graduate with a BS in Construction Science and 19 years of experience in the construction, safety, and human resources fields. In her role, she will head Safety Services, ensuring safety from the job site to the office, and she will also head Total Rewards, ensuring employees get the most out of their benefits.

Dual leadership roles, like her latest at Garver, are nothing new to Collins, who previously served in many leadership positions at Kiewit, a construction and engineering company. Before joining Garver, Collins was the Senior Business Partner in human resources and led the people programming for the Water Facilities District and the human resources department.

Collins’ previous work as an estimator and project engineer included managing and overseeing safety. Additionally, her knack for leadership and eye for detail also led her to create and manage the Kiewit University Recruitment program, where she led a team of shared service university recruiters responsible for meeting the college hiring needs of the organization.

Collins has also served as an adjunct professor for Montana State University’s Construction Engineering Department, a project manager for C Construction in Texas and a market analyst for Clark Construction in Maryland.

Garver’s award-winning culture, commitment to employees, and reputation for excellence will be central to Collins’ role. Her thoughtful approach and experience in supporting employees make her a perfect fit for the firm, where she will uphold Garver’s title as a “Best Firm to Work For,” an honor Garver has been consistently awarded for a decade.

Garver’s culture drew Collins to the role. “Commitment to excellence in benefits, safety, and culture were all top priorities for me,” she said. “Garver’s mission to invest in its employees and the communities they serve made it an easy and exciting choice.”

Collins will be based in Garver’s downtown Dallas office, and report to John Shaw, Chief Human Resources Officer at the firm.

“We’re excited to have Lauren aboard,” Shaw said. “Having worked with her at Kiewit, I know first-hand how much of an excellent addition to Garver she will be. Her extensive experience and dedication to people will strengthen our team.”
