Garver recognized for work with LRSD

Garver's North Little Rock, Arkansas GarverGives committee has volunteered to assist with a variety of events with the Little Rock School District’s EXCEL program over the past year. A program that aims to provide students with professional skills in a variety of areas, LRSD’s EXCEL Program is a match for GarverGives, which place emphasis on its employee’s efforts in assisting STEM-related programs.

Garver was recently honored for this commitment, when presented the EXCEL Champions award during the LRSD’s EXCEL Showcase program held recently in downtown Little Rock.

“A key mission of GarverGives is to pass along the core principles that help the next generation of thinkers and innovators in STEM-related fields,” said Garver Water Project Engineer Paul Dickson. “The various programs that we participated in with the EXCEL program are each aimed at passing along those concepts, and we had a lot of fun being a part of it.”

Among the programs were a Shark Tank-style judging event in which students presented unique products to a panel of engineers. Garver employees also worked with students on resume building and mock interviews, and hosted an event at its North Little Rock office to introduce students to Garver’s service lines and ongoing projects.

Garver was also proud to present the district with a $1,000 donation for an event at the Little Rock Zoo.
