To meet the growing demands for both deicing operations and remain overnight (RON) positions, the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority (MNAA) selected a Progressive Design-Build team to construct a 30-acre ramp expansion. The apron expansion will provide seven additional ADG III deicing locations (plus one ADG V deicing location), 17 additional RON locations (14 ADG III and three ADG V), and supplemental taxilanes to support growing terminal logistics.
The project involved the import of more than 1 million cubic yards of fill from local quarries and the encapsulation of approximately 1,500 feet of a State of Tennessee protected waterway, requiring coordination with multiple state and local permitting agencies.
Garver played a key role from concept through design, providing apron feasibility analyses and preliminary design services while leading construction safety and phasing planning, grading design, airfield marking layouts, airfield electrical design, and construction operations planning. These efforts helped position the airport for future growth while maintaining safe and efficient operations throughout project development.
