NTMWD McKinney Eastside Gravity Sewer Phase 1
Evaluating rehabilitation options to increase system capacity
The greater Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex is experiencing rapid growth, placing significant strain on the wastewater systems for the communities of Anna, Melissa, and McKinney. To proactively anticipate this growth and upgrade some aging infrastructure, the North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) contracted Garver to provide preliminary design, final design, and construction administration for 28,000 linear feet of 48- to 66-inch gravity interceptor improvements.
After evaluating options to rehabilitate or replace the existing, deteriorating pipe, Garver prepared a preliminary design report (PDR) comparing capacity improvement alternatives for the east side interceptor system. The recommended alternative suggests replacing the existing 21- to 24-inch interceptor with a larger interceptor to meet future flow projections.
Garver provided final design, bidding, and construction administration phase services for capacity improvements of approximately 19,500 linear feet of 54- to 66-inch pipe. Additionally, Garver will support NTMWD with the funding application for the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB).
