Cardwell named to Water Leadership Institute's 2021 class
As a process engineer at Garver, Wes Cardwell, PE, has worked with clients and communities across the country for over a decade, protecting public health and the environment through efficient, reliable treatment of wastewater.
Cardwell's commitment to improving his leadership skills and dedication to the industry has earned him a seat in the 2021 class of the Water Environment Federation’s (WEF) Water Leadership Institute program. Selected from nominees across the country and beyond, he is joined by 53 diverse water and wastewater industry professionals.
“The core mission of any water professional within the wastewater industry is to deliver resilient solutions that result in safe, treated water returning to our environment,” Cardwell said. “Through the Water Leadership Institute, I’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with leading minds across the country who share this same passion while we learn to develop and improve our leadership skills. All these skills, and more, will make me a better water professional. I look forward to this opportunity to work with leaders from across the industry and learn new, inventive ways to serve our communities.”
Sponsored by WEF, the program’s mission is to empower and develop emerging leaders within the industry through education, training, and networking. Each year, participants get the opportunity to collaborate with fellow professionals across the nation and examine the complex challenges facing the water and wastewater industries. They will also be equipped with the leadership skills necessary to create change within their organizations, allowing not only the participants but their staff as well to explore innovative solutions and strategies that combat those challenges.
Members will meet through virtual sessions throughout the year, culminating with a workshop at the WEFTEC conference in October 2021.
