Garver improves to No. 122 on ENR Top 500 Design Firms list

Following one of its most impactful years, Garver posted its best ever showing on the Engineering News-Record’s latest Top 500 Design Firms list.

Garver, which spent much of 2019 celebrating its centennial year with clients and communities across its growing footprint, came in at No. 122, its highest ever showing on the annual list that tracks design revenue earned by U.S.-based firms.

“I couldn’t be more grateful for what Garver accomplished in 2019,” said President and CEO Brock Hoskins. “Not only did we celebrate with our employees, clients, friends, and so many others, which was a lot of fun, but we also maintained and enhanced our reputation of providing exemplary services to the communities where we live and work.”

Garver’s ranking advanced 16 spots from last year, and it has jumped 70 spots over the last five years. The annual improvement can be attributed in part to Garver’s continued commitment to the markets and services it has provided for a century, accompanied by aggressive and selective expansion.

Garver expanded its footprint in 2019 with new offices in Oklahoma City, Olive Branch, Mississippi; El Paso and College Station, Texas; and New Orleans and it has grown to nearly 800 employees. Today, Garver is a multi-disciplined firm providing a wide range of services while specializing in aviation, construction, facilities design, federal, transportation, survey, and water across the United States.

In addition to continuing to provide expert services, Garver’s centennial year included the Garver Chain Reaction Challenge, which saw the firm donate STEM kits and funds to 100 schools across its footprint. Garver challenged the students to create Rube Goldberg-style chain reaction contraptions, then employees judged the submissions and selected nine winners and one Grand Champion. An estimated 14,000 students across the country were reached through the Garver Chain Reaction Challenge, and more than 1,000 students worked alongside engineers from Garver during school events throughout year.
